Chicken Wing, Chicken Wing…

If you have young children, you probably know the song that is in my head right now with this recipe title!  If you have no idea what I’m talking about you can listen to it here (and I apologize in advance because it WILL get stuck in your head)!

Ingredients:

  • package organic chicken wings (approx. 30 wings)
  • 4 tbsp. organic baking powder 
  • 4 tbsp. raw or organic honey 
  • 2 tbsp. organic soy sauce 
  • 3 cloves organic garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup earth balance margarine
  • 1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce

Method:

  1. Do not preheat your oven.
  2. Toss uncooked chicken wings in baking powder in a large stainless, steel bowl (coat evenly)
  3. Place chicken wings on a greased or parchment paper lined baking sheet, sprinkle with fresh ground sea salt and pepper to your liking and put in the oven and NOW turn on the oven to preheat to 425 degrees allowing wings to heat slowly as the oven warms up.
  4. Once the oven reaches 425 degrees, set a timer for 20 minutes.
  5. After 20 minutes timer rings, flip wings and cook for another 20-30 minutes.
  6. Remove wings from the oven when they are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Toss in sauce of your choice or do 15 in one sauce, and the other half in the other sauce to try both!
  8. Honey Garlic Sauce:  Combine honey, soy sauce and minced garlic.  Toss wings in a large stainless steel bowl with prepared honey garlic sauce and enjoy! Honey-garlic-Wings2
  9. Better than Butter BBQ Hot Sauce: Melt earth balance and combine with hot sauce.  Toss wings with  this sauce and enjoy! Hot Wings - Bowl 2
