Bringing Baby Home ~ Workshop for New Parents


Within three years after the birth of a child, approximately two thirds of parents will experience a significant drop in their relationship quality. Research shows that the quality of a relationship between parents has a direct and profound impact on the development of infants and children.

This research-based workshop is designed to teach expecting and parenting families with the transition and early years of parenthood.

The Bringing Baby Home parents workshop, helps parents strengthen their friendship, increase intimacy, and regulate conflict—thereby improving their well-being and that of their child(ren).

What’s included:

  • 12 hours of interactive, engaging online workshop activities and education to help you learn the best ways to support your growing family and your partner relationship. You will learn the strategies and skills to make a successful transition to parenthood.
  • The “Bringing Baby Home” Parents’ Workbook. This digital resource gives you access to over 250 pages of in-depth information, insights, examples and exercises that help parents learn to:
  • Maintain relationship satisfaction after having a baby
  • Reduce relationship hostility and increase affection
  • Promote positive parent-baby interactions
  • Promote quality involvement for caregivers
  • Reduce the incidence or severity of postpartum mood disorders

These resources are designed to help couples learn the strategies and skills to make a successful transition to parenthood.

*Please note: This is an educational group and not a therapy group. Couples may pursue separate Couples Therapy before, during or after the program.  

Fees:

*A receipt will be issued each week for Social Work/Psychotherapy services for reimbursement if you have benefit/insurance coverage for Social Work services
